Well I found a car for my daughter over the weekend. Obviously, the subject line gives that away. Nice little car for her. It's the LS model so it has lots of options & only has 44k miles.

Anyway, the irritating thing is, it only came with one set of keys/key FOB. I picked up an extra FOB off eBay but it says the dealer has to program it because it requires a scan tool (tech II I believe).

Any one have a Tech II? bandhead

Thanks,

Mark

Keep searching Mark. The typical answer is the one that you have been given. I know with our cars there is a way around that, but if the Cav is OBD3 you may be out of luck.
Mike Lewis has a Tech2 and is more than willing to help out as long as he is available.... Busy guy he is. Lake Samamish is his location. I dunno where that is, but you might.

Hmm, it's an 04. If it's like the impala's you can program the fob through the radio. The impala's are like that until 2005.

Yeah, everything I've seen points to the Tech II being needed Evil or Very Mad .
